What is New @ Jaypee Junior Open Squash Champioship?

The idea of organising the Jaypee Junior Squash Championship was to promote the game amongst youngsters.  The Championship could not be held as was originally planned in May due to hot wheather conditions that forced the Uttar Pradesh Squash Rackets Association and local organisers to postpone the event.

  • After much thought and looking at the National Calendar it was realised that Junior Squash Players would benefit if something could be organised few weeks before the Junior Nationals in Indore. UPSRA, Jaypee Greens and DGBNSRA jointly decided to positioning the event such that all emerging Junior Talent across the country gets to try their skills with fellow players in their respective age groups. The third week of September will give ensure that all participating players performance peaks just in time for the Junior Nationals.
  • As knock-out draws usually are unfair for all those players who end up loosing in the first round – therefore a concious effort is being made this time by the organisers to ensure that each player gets to play a minimum of two matches per category. This will be done by playing the first round loosers plate in all most categories.
  • By ensuring that each player plays in two categories (except for those playing in Under 19) the organisers will offer player a choice of playing a minimum of 4 matches in the tournament.
  • All players will be expected to play more than one match per day.
  • There will also be special educational sessions for players participating in the championship.

FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED IN OUR EARLIER EVENTS – THIS WILL BE ANOTHER CHANCE FOR YOU TO COME AND ENJOY SQUASH AND OUR HOSPITALITY. FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE NOT VISITED US THIS SHOULD BE THE TOURNAMENT YOU SHOULD BE LOOKING FORWARD TOO…

See you in Noida this September !
